Education is the key. The key to what? The key to many things. For one thing, the key to success.
What is success? Earl Nightingale possibly offers the best definition I know:
“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.”
• A success is the school teacher who is teaching because that’s what he or she wants to do.
• A success is the entrepreneur who starts his own company because that was his dream – that’s what he wanted to do.
• A success is the salesperson that wants to become the best salesperson in his or her company and sets forth in pursuit of that goal.
I love these sign posts below. What do they mean?
• The first thing to say is that the two signs point in the same direction.
• The second thing to say is the two signs are side by side (together).
Therefore, Education is the way to the future.
Education is important especially in a modern world economy where everything becomes complex, and thus confuses people when having to make decisions in all aspects of life. With education, people will have the fundamental principles as well as courage, combined with their personal values and beliefs to serve as an underlying force for dealing with life’s challenges and difficulties.
What do we need to face the future? We live in a global economy, and today can be described as the knowledge age. In order to have success in today’s global knowledge age, you need to learn skills such as:
• Organizational capacity (for example, fiscal and human),
• Sound management practices and process,
• Enabling infrastructure (for example, information technology) and
• Effective communication.
Education is the key.
