An infopreneur is generally considered an entrepreneur who makes money selling information on the Internet. They use existing data and target an audience. As I read about it more, it is very tempting to think about becoming one. After all, while you are sleeping, someone on the other side of the world could be buying your products.
If your average product sells for $5 each, and you sell 30 products every day (including night), well that is $1050 per week. This is a reasonable income, and certainly a brilliant secondary income. Are you tempted? I certainly was.
When you think of other benefits such as:
• No traffic jams to fight getting to work.
• No idiot boss to satisfy every day.
• No work deadlines and schedules to meet.
You could become more and more tempted.
John Chow, in his compelling article at http://www.johnchow.com/the-11-reasons-to-be-an-infopreneur/ gives us 11 very good reasons to think about becoming an infopreneur. I suspect that John Chow has been a more successful infopreneur than I have. His reasons are good ones, and I truly like his style.
Here are John Chow’s reasons to become an infopreneur:
1. You only your own experience and expertise.
Everything you need to be a successful infopreneur is inside your brain.
2. You can work from home, in your available spare time as things suit you.
3. Start-up costs are low and affordable.
4. There is plenty of guidance available from role models and fellow infopreneurs.
5. There is powerful, intuitive and easy-to-use technology available to help you.
6. Your business can be set to run hands-off, on auto-pilot.
Do you wish you could be lying on a beach, sipping orange juice, while your business chugs along raking in money? Fully-automated income streams running on auto-pilot with no effort on your part are a ‘dream come true’ for many infopreneurs.
Don’t get me wrong.! You’ll need to put in some hard work. But once it’s done, you’ll enjoy the fruits of your labour for a long time.
7. The business is scalable — you can take it as high as you want.
If you are looking to make a few hundred dollars extra every month, you can do it.
My business helps sponsor expensive treatment for little children from underprivileged families, who are born with serious heart defects. (Gee I love this guy!). Your ambition as an infopreneur is possibly only limited by your imagination!
8. There are no time limitations. You can grow your business as fast or as slow as you like.
9. There are no geographic restrictions. All you need is a computer with an Internet connection.
10. There are no barriers to entry, such as language, social status, physical handicaps, or anything else.
11. Good potential for passive income for the long term.
A big advantage (and one that is often overlooked) is the potential to work once and get paid over and over again. Many people who read about the potential in becoming an infopreneur give up too early, thinking it sounds like too much hard work.
You write a report or book once: and yes, it can be hard work. But guess what? You get paid for that work a year later… four years later… even ten years later, or more! That’s FUN.
So should you become an infopreneur? It’s not as easy as it sounds. However, your circumstances might make becoming an infopreneur a very attractive option.
It’s worth researching.
