It’s an interesting and emerging field and seems here to stay. What is an ‘infopreneur’? Can a person sustain an income online?
Anybody can be an infopreneur. We are all unique and we all have access to our own unique information databases.
An Infopreneur is someone who gathers and sells electronic information.
Once the infopreneur has built up a website containing several pages of gorgeous content, he or she can now monetise that content and website. This is where it gets juicy. If you cannot make money from your content and website, then you should not become an infopreneur.
The unfortunate paradox is that many people have good content and nice websites. Should they become infopreneurs? Probably – but they might not be making money just yet.
Please read my blog “Should I become an Infopreneur” where 11 good reasons are given, and references made to John Chow, who is a very successful infopreneur.
In a nutshell, a basic infopreneur could:
• Write blogs and articles and link to Google Adsense or similar contextual based advertising and receive commissions for each time the ad is clicked on.
• Form affiliate partnerships and receive commissions.
• Sell information based products such as E-Books.
There are lots of ways you could earn, you just have to be a bit creative. There are plenty of niches out there that a willing infopreneur can easily fill.
The infopreneur’s own unique ‘brand’ offers the opportunity to corner a niche and own it. Are you creative? Do you have a unique brand? Can you make some money – even if it is only coffee money? If so, become an infopreneur.
