It’s time to test my Planning and Implementation.
I have put things in place. Now I must test and verify these implementations, and find out how well my plans actually work.
I have:
1) Created a Draft Web Page with help from Mark Medlicott of Medlicott Design Limited. It’s not too difficult. Tested ok.
2) Filed my present E-Books onto a USB drive. I have listed them, and are updating some of them. Mark will help me put them on my web site. Tested ok.
3) I have learned about blogging, and even have a few blogs on my web site. Tested ok.
However, hmmm. I don’t have a Laptop Lifestyle just yet. Why not?
1) My Affiliate Plan is not yet up and running.
2) I am not selling any E-Books yet.
3) I have not made any sales with my Online Training yet.
Have I moved too quickly?
I don’t think so, and one of the huge dangers of any project is Analysis Paralysis. I have not fallen into this trap, though maybe I need to “Make haste slowly”
Analysis paralysis or paralysis by analysis is over-analyzing (or over-thinking) a situation so that a decision or action is never taken, in effect paralyzing the outcome.
A very helpful hint — it is far better to do something than to do nothing. So let’s analyze my score — 3 Tested ok versus 3 not yet done. That’s 3 out of 6 tested ok, which is not too bad for something new.
Selling E-Books and selling my online training might take time — certainly more than the week I have given it. So I can be forgiven for the fact that these two haven’t struck gold yet.
What about my Affiliate Plan? It needs action, or it needs better focus. I have just been reading “Living a Laptop Lifestyle” by Greg and Fiona Scott. They say FOCUS means Follow One Course Until Successful. They are correct so long as my planning has been correct.
So my Affiliate Plan needs Focus. I agree.
With this focus I also need to make haste more slowly. Things like E-Book sales will take a little more time too.
I can probably give myself an overall tick for Testing and Verification. I am not finished yet — I have Maintenance to come. Some of my plans might need updating and editing. I hope they don’t need to be changed.
So far — good enough (I think).
