Instead of surrounding yourself with destructive people, you should spend more time with the supportive ones. If the people you’re usually around are unsupportive of your goals and dreams, then you shouldn’t spend a lot time with them.

Positive and uplifting people who will always be there for you will help you see just how great life can be. Spending more time with people like this will make you feel good about yourself and will also encourage you to become more supportive of others.

Try Something New

It doesn’t matter if you decide to pick up a new hobby or try cooking a meal you’ve never prepared before; the important thing is that you challenge yourself and temporarily leave your comfort zone. Whenever you decide to do this, you will notice that you will think highly of yourself.

Even if you make some mistakes and fail, you will know that you at least tried instead of doing nothing. Going outside of your comfort zone is always a good idea, but you should also learn not to expect anything. Expecting to succeed and then failing may only make matters worse. Instead, you should realize that your goal is only to try something new.

Learn To Handle Mistakes

Whenever you decide to go outside of your comfort zone and try to accomplish an important goal, you will stumble upon numerous roadblocks. This is completely normal, and shouldn’t discourage you. In fact, it should motivate you to try harder and stay committed to your goals.

Stop Comparing Yourself To Others

If you’re in the habit of comparing yourself to others, then you probably have self-esteem issues. Doing this is extremely unhealthy, and will only leave you feeling bad about yourself. You should never feel disappointed in yourself just because one of your friends has a better car and a bigger house than you. If you usually let things like this get to you, then you need to stop comparing yourself to other immediately.

The main reason why you should never compare yourself to others is because you simply don’t know everything about their lives. Maybe your friend that has a bigger house, a better car, and way more money simply isn’t happy with the life he or she is living.

Set Realistic Expectations

Setting unrealistic expectations is an extremely easy way to kill your self-esteem. You should never set a goal that’s unreachable, and you should never expect to accomplish something easily. It’s okay to dream and work towards becoming a millionaire, but expecting to become one within a few years will most likely make your self-esteem take a blow if you don’t achieve that goal.
